Frequently asked questions.
How do I know if counselling is for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Many people reach out because they feel stuck in repeating patterns — in their relationships, their thoughts, or their emotional responses. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to change what’s been happening.
I usually suggest starting with 1–2 sessions to see if we’re the right fit and whether this feels helpful for you or your relationship at this time. Your autonomy is always central to the process.
How long does a session go for? How many sessions will I need?
Individual sessions run for 60 minutes. The initial couples session runs for 75 minutes to allow time for a thorough understanding of your relationship and what’s been happening.
Some people find 6 sessions is enough to work through a specific challenge. Others choose to stay for 10 sessions or more to explore deeper patterns. Some people also see counselling as an ongoing support for maintaining their wellbeing or a healthy relationship.
Are you available to see people of all ages?
I work with adults aged 18 years and over. While I value supporting people across the lifespan, I no longer work with children or teenagers.
What type of therapy do you do?
My approach is relational and attachment-focused, meaning the therapeutic relationship becomes a safe base for understanding the patterns you experience with others and within yourself.
I draw from approaches including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and practical tools for emotional regulation and stress management. Sessions are always tailored to you.
For couples, therapy is more structured and focuses on understanding and interrupting conflict cycles, rebuilding emotional safety, improving communication, and reconnecting with each other’s needs and values.
What are your fees?
Individual:
$130 full | $115 Concession
Couples:

While Medicare rebates are not available, fees are comparable to the out-of-pocket cost of many psychologists.
